Iron supporters can now view all three articles from our Easter player visits, along with a special video on our YouTube channel. At the start of the half term at the end of February, we launched a brand new competition asking anyone – be it parent or teachers – to nominate a child who has made significant progress at either school or day-to-day life.
Over the course of the two weeks of the Easter holidays, six players visited three youngsters after they were nominated for the visit.
Firstly, Paddy Madden and Gary McSheffrey visited Maisie at her grandparents house following a nomination from her dad.
The story from that visit can be viewed here: http://www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk/news/article/madden-and-mcsheffrey-make-special-easter-visit-2372007.aspx
Two days later Eddie Nolan and Andrew Boyce paid a special trip to Lucy after she sent a letter to the Irish full back herself.
The article from the second Easter visit can be viewed here: http://www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk/news/article/boyce-and-nolan-make-easter-visit-2387723.aspx
Meanwhile, a week later, goalkeepers Sam Slocombe and Luke Daniels visited 9 year old Tommy at his house, following a nomination from his mum after his bravery over an extended period of time.
To read of Tommy’s experiences, view the story here: http://www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk/news/article/slocombe-and-daniels-visit-tommy-2397302.aspx
The Iron have also produced a special YouTube video incorporating all three visits. That can be viewed on our official YouTube channel, by clicking the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwF961Q70qk or in the box below.
The club would like to thank all entries for this competition and while it was impossible to visit every single one of those entries over the course of the Easter holidays, the players at Scunthorpe United urge you to keep up the good work and enter any future competitions that are put on.
