Everyone at the Club is saddened to learn of the death through illness of Vice-Chairman Rex Garton, aged 66.
Rex first joined the Scunthorpe United Board in 1986 and but for a six month spell in 1992 has remained a constant ever since overseeing the legal work at the Club.In 2010 he became the first Scunthorpe United Director to be honoured by the Football League with a long service award when he was presented with a plaque at the summer conference.
Rex leaves behind a wife Val, son, James, daughter, Amy and grandchildren, Ben and Anna.
