The Iron will take a look at midfielder Nicky Featherstone during Tuesday's reserve away match at Doncaster Rovers.

The fixture at Cantley Park (1pm kick-off) will present the former Walsall man with a chance to show what he's capable of in a game situation to the United management.

He has trained with United for the last few weeks and signed non-contract terms three weeks ago.

Featherstone was then included on the substitutes' bench for the Capital One Cup second round tie against Reading.

However, the non-contract registration form was cancelled on transfer deadline day last week to allow him to get signed up with another club outside the transfer window should he not be successful in earning a contract with the Iron.

United will now take the opportunity to have a look at the ex-Hull youth product on Tuesday afternoon.
