IRON 25/1 FOR THE TITLE

19 May 2014

League sponsors Sky Bet make the Iron 25/1 to win the League One title next season.

Meanwhile, we're 8/1 to secure consecutive promotions and 9/2 to be relegated.

Memorably, the Iron were listed as 50/1 in the summer of 2006 before going on to storm their way to the title that season.

The bookmakers make Sheffield United favourites to win League One next season on the back of an impressive second-half to this season.

The Blades are 6/1 to win the title and 12/5 to be promoted after a remarkable second half of the season saw them lose only two of 19 games and also reach the FA Cup semi-finals.

Relegated Yorkshire duo Barnsley and Doncaster are each given odds of 7/2 to make an immediate return to the Sky Bet Championship, while Yeovil are priced at 9/2 by the online bookmaker.

Sky Bet make newly promoted Chesterfield 11/2 shots to go up.

Notts County, who avoided relegation on the final day of the season, are 16/1 to be promoted.

Sky Bet’s Head of Football Trading Paul Wiggins said: “It's no surprise to see Sheffield United head the League One betting after their fantastic end to the season.

"They will be looking to take that form into the new season and Nigel Clough is likely to have money to spend after their cup run."
