As preparations continue ahead of our eagerly awaited return to League One, there still remains a lot of negotiations that need to be completed, with players who were offered new deals.
I am delighted that we have managed to sign David Mirfin and Terry Hawkridge on new two-year deals while it is also great to see two potential future stars in Callum Howe and Luke Waterfall sign new one-year contracts.
However, there are still a number of players that Russ and I are still waiting to hear back from.
Everyone at the club is working hard to create a team that will be able to compete in League One next season.
When the initial contract offers went out to the players earlier this month we gave them all a deadline of May 30, to respond.
On Friday 30 May at 5pm all the offers that are currently on the table will be withdrawn, which means we will look at alternative targets.
Obviously if we can agree terms before Friday and then sign the following week, we will do that.
This Friday I shall be following in the footsteps of manager Russ Wilcox by helping the ticket office sell season tickets ahead of the early bird deadline.
I will be in there from 9.15 – 10.15 helping out and I look forward to having a chat.
I am very excited about next season and the bright future that we have in prospect and I hope you all feel the same.
