AN EASY DECISION TO MAKE

22 May 2014

Iron defender Luke Waterfall is delighted to have signed a new deal with the club.

The 23-year-old penned a one-year contract on Wednesday to extend his stay at Glanford Park, after making 10 appearances last year, scoring in his first start, which was in the important 1-1 away draw at Chesterfield.

"I'm delighted. We've got a good set of lads here," Waterfall told The Iron Player.

"I want to play a few more games this year than I did last season.

"That couldn't be helped though because Niall Canavan and David Mirfin were so good. I didn't really have an argument to be honest.

"It was an easy decision to stay. It's ideal for me travelling-wise and it's a good club.

"It will be another big step-up but hopefully one that we can all cope with and adjust to.

"We'll just have to see what League One brings.

"If I can get more game time and chip in with the odd goal, that would be great."
