PREVIEW: PLYMOUTH ARGYLE (A)

14 March 2014

Saturday’s trip to Home Park sees the Iron take on John Sheridan’s play-off chasing Plymouth Argyle.

The Pilgrims have won five of their last seven and lie just outside the top seven spots, although they have a game in hand on Southend above them.

There has been 24 meetings between the two sides in total, and there is nothing to separate them as both have 12 victories over the other while the further three finished level.

Last line-up: Slocombe, Nolan, Mirfin, Canavan, Williams, Hawkridge, Sparrow, Syers, McSheffrey, Madden, Winnall.

Deon Burton (calf) continues to be unavailable for the Iron, although there are no fresh injury concerns for Russ Wilcox.

Sean McAllister will be available after recovering from a slight calf strain.

The Pilgrims will remain without goalkeeper Luke McCormick (finger) and Jason Banton (groin).

However, there are no fresh injury concerns for Sheridan’s side at the moment.

Last line-up: Cole, Berry, Blanchard, Trotman, Parsons, Young, Hourihane, Blizzard, Nelson, Alessandra, Reid.

Sheridan told Plymouth’s official website (pafc.co.uk) this week: “Scunthorpe are on a really good run.

“Russ Wilcox has done a really good job since he’s gone there so it will be a tough game for us and likewise with Chesterfield.

“It will be a good test for us and hopefully we can get the results we’re after.”
