LEAGUE TWO REVIEW: WEEK 33

31 March 2014

Saturday’s goalless draw against Wycombe Wanderers meant the Iron broke a 125-year Football League record for games unbeaten.

Portsmouth picked up a 2-1 victory against Newport County at Rodney Parade. Ryan Taylor fired Pompey in front from the penalty spot before the Exiles had both Adam Chapman and Darcy Blake sent off. Jed Wallace then doubled Portsmouth’s lead although Ismail Yakubu did pull one back for the hosts.

Bury beat Northampton Town 3-0 at Sixfields Stadium with goals from Hallam Hope, Danny Mayor and Danny Rose.

Bristol Rovers were 1-0 winners at home to Morecambe as Kaid Mohamed’s injury-time header gave new boss Darrell Clarke all three points.

A last-gasp Luke Howell goal gave Dagenham & Redbridge a 1-0 win at home to Oxford United.

Accrington Stanley beat Exeter City 1-0 at St James Park as Kayode Odejayi scored the game’s only goal in the first half.

A second-half Freddy Eastwood goal gave Southend United a 1-0 win over Torquay United at Roots Hall.

Jermain McGlashan fired Cheltenham Town to a 1-0 victory at Hartlepool United in the second half.

An early free-kick from Adam Murray gave Mansfield a 1-0 win at home to AFC Wimbledon.

And there were draws for Fleetwood Town (0-0 at home to Rochdale) and York City (0-0 at home to Burton Albion) in the latest round of Sky Bet League 2 fixtures.
