First year professional Luke Hornsey has joined Evo-Stick side Frickley Athletic on a one-month loan deal.
The 19-year-old, who was handed a professional contract at the end of last season alongside Jamie Wootton and Geroge Grayson, has not been able to force his way into the first team squad so he’s been sent out on loan in order to gain experience. The midfielder, who is rated highly by manager Russ Wilcox, played during the reserve team’s 4-0 home defeat to Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday – his first start for a while having been ruled out through injury.
It is expected that Hornsey will go into Karl Rose’s squad for tomorrow’s away trip to Kings Lynn.
He will team up with defender Joe Wilcox, who is the son of United boss Russ Wilcox.
