GETTING TO CHELTENHAM

25 March 2014

The Iron will make the long trip down to Cheltenham this Tuesday, aiming to continue their unbeaten run after putting Burton Albion to the sword last time out.

Whaddon Road...
Cheltenham have played at Whaddon Road since 1932, when the ground was built solely for the club. The ground has a capacity of 7,066 (3,912 seated) and has four stands: Those are the Main Stand, the In2Print Stand, the Prestbury Road Stand and the Hazelwoods Stand, which is the newest part of the ground. This stand was built in 2005 and is also where the travelling Iron fans will be situated.

Getting there...
Iron fans should leave the M5 at junction 10 and head onto the A4019 towards Cheltenham. Keep going straight through the traffic lights until you come to a large roundabout that has a McDonalds on the left. Turn left there and continue over the mini roundabout before turning right into Swindon Lane. Go over the level crossing here and follow the next roundabout towards Prestbury, passing Cheltenham race course. Turn right into Albert Road before turning left into Prestbury Road. Further down there is Whaddon Road. Turn right there and the ground is down there and on the left.

For your information...
The Robins Nest is the club bar at at the ground and allows in small numbers of away fans for £1. There is also the Kemble Brewery Inn nearby and around ten minutes away are the Sudeley Arms and The Conservatory on the outskirts of the town centre.

The view from the modern away end is very good, with a good view of the playing surface and plenty of leg room for visiting supporters. There is food available too, such as Burgers, Hot Dogs and Sausage Rolls.

Parking...
There is a small Club car park at the ground, which costs £5 and there is also the Parklands Social Club that has some parking for £4. Other than that, there is very little nearby street parking around the ground and the next alternative is a free Park & Rid, which operates from Cheltenham Racecourse and begins at 6pm for evening games.
