For clarification the club wish to inform the fans regarding the position of Tony Daws in relation to first team operations.

Tony has had a fantastic year supporting Russ and the coaches, on their way to promotion and a discussion has taken place between the board, myself Tony and Russ.

There was a huge temptation for Tony to become assistant manager and who could blame him!

However after long discussions Tony has decided to continue his role within the youth set up, although of course his input into the first team is crucial for the future development of our young players and he will still be very much part of the first team set up.

For me personally the Youth academy is very important to the future of the football club.

I want to ensure that we develop and grow quality players through our system and enable players to fulfil their dreams of becoming a professional footballer.

The new stadium gives us the opportunity to move to Cat 2 and play some of the bigger sides, due to the facilities both on and off the field.

To ensure this moves swiftly and correctly we need Tony to concentrate on the Youth and because of this it makes it practically impossible to do both jobs.

We now have a 2-3 year plan based around the growth of the youth academy which for me is an exciting and demanding project and I am delighted that Tony will be leading us through to completion.
This of course leaves an opportunity for Russ to appoint an assistant and I am sure, as soon as he has decided who he wants, he will go to press.

The current situation re the Stadium is as per recent statements and on time. further negotiations are continuing but we envisage a further update at the end of next week.

We are still working for a completion next year and although planning has not been presented at this time it does not effect the time-scales of the build. I look forward to updating all of you shortly."

On a final note we are improving our restaurant and catering facilities so we can offer a new and varied menu for next season which we hope will have your approval and in addition to that we can now offer party nights at Christmas with a live band, quality food and a late night bar and DJ, all for under £30!!.

New Years Eve promises to be a great night and we hope as many of you as possible book for what will be the last New Years eve at the current ground.

Live band, 4 course menu, comedian and appearances from players and officials, just watch this space for more news!!"
