Iron manager Russ Wilcox was satisfied with how new arrival Miles Addison coped with his debut at Frickley on Tuesday night.
The Bournemouth man will join officially on loan for an initial month from August 8, but he has been granted permission to play in United's friendlies as they build up to the home clash with Swindon Town.Wilcox told The Iron Player: "He did okay. I spoke to him in the changing room after and we'll do some work with him on Thursday and Friday.
"The main thing when you've not had a lot of football is picking up the flight of the ball.
"Especially as a centre-back, which I know myself (from playing there during my career). That is the main thing that needs to return for him.
"He was disappointed with his timing and contact but I can understand it.
"He showed he has strength, power and organisational skills. He is a leader and will get a bigger test on Saturday against Leicester.
"Frickley is a tough place to come, the grass is long and they gave it a real good go.
"He'll be better suited to playing on the Glanford Park surface on Saturday."
