He continued: “The pitch made it difficult given how long the grass was but they put on a great game for us. It’s very easy for some players to turn up with the attitude of ‘I don’t want to be here’, or to just amble through it, but we don’t have any lads like that. At the end of the day you get nothing from having that sort of work ethic.
“We’ve came here and everyone has put their all into it to the point where it almost spilled over a couple of times. In my opinion this is a good thing – it’s exactly what we need from preseason as the games need to be as realistic as possible.”
