The Iron have signed free agent defender Miguel Llera on a one-year-deal with the option of a further year.
Llera left Championship side Sheffield Wednesday at the end of the 2013-14 season and played on a trial basis for United against Huddersfield Town last weekend.He brings a vast amount of experience to Glanford Park having begun his career in his native Spain and made his first move to English football with MK Dons in 2008.
The 34-year-old has also represented Charlton, Blackpool and Brentford before joining Wednesday towards the end of 2011.
He spent two and a half years with the South Yorkshire club and now links up with Scunthorpe ahead of the club’s upcoming Sky Bet League One campaign.
