LEAGUE TWO REVIEW - WEEK 28.5

27 February 2014

Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers means the Iron have fallen two points behind leaders Chesterfield.

The Spireites cruised to a 4-1 win at Cheltenham Town after scoring four goals in seven minutes through Dan Gardner, Eoin Doyle, Ollie Banks and Liam Cooper. Cheltenham grabbed a consolation strike in the second half via Byron Harrison.

Bury were also 4-1 winners away to Mansfield Town. Goals from Danny Mayor, two for Daniel Nardiello and one from Jake Carroll gave the Shakers victory, despite the Stags grabbing one back through Sam Clucas.

Plymouth Argyle cruised to a 4-0 victory at Fleetwood Town with goals from Reuben Reid, Luke Young, Maxime Blanchard and Conor Hourihane.

AFC Wimbledon won 2-1 at Newport County after late goals from Charlie Sheringham and Kevin Sainte-Luce overturned Ross Worner’s own goal.

Northampton Town also picked up a 2-1 win against Southend United at Sixfields Stadium. The Cobblers led through Mathias Kouo-Doumbe before Michael Timlin levelled for the Shrimpers. However, Chris Hackett scored a second-half winner for the hosts.

Portsmouth beat Accrington Stanley 1-0 with Jake Jervis grabbing the only goal after half-time.

Wycombe were also 1-0 winners at Exeter thanks to Max Kretzschmar’s first-half strike.

And there was a 1-1 draw between Torquay United and Burton Albion to round off the latest set of Sky Bet League 2 fixtures.
