WE HAVE WORKED EXTREMELY HARD

12 December 2014

“We all have to stay together”, was the message from Miguel Llera as the Iron prepare for the visit of Crewe Alexandra at Glanford Park on Saturday.

United are currently five unbeaten in all competitions, with their latest league result being a 2-1 victory away at Barnsley.

Scunthorpe return for their first league game at Glanford Park since the end of October, and it is something Llera is looking forward to.

Llera told The Iron Player: “We have got to do what the manager says to get the three points against Crewe on Saturday.

“We all have to stay together and try to put in the practice that we have done in midweek into the game.

"If we do everything the manager says we will be alright and I believe we will get the three points.

“It is good to be back at Glanford Park for the league game. It is better to be home than away, the most important game is the next game when we are playing against Crewe.”

Llera continued by discussing how the squad has got on in training ahead of the League One fixture - a game Llera said the squad are going into full of confidence after their recent form during the last six weeks.

He said: “Training has been pretty good, it will keep us focused ahead of Saturday. It is a key game for us, we have worked extremely hard so we hope to get the three points on Saturday.

“The confidence is good, everybody has been working really hard. That’s the reason we have been getting good results lately as everyone has been working pretty hard.

“Our confidence is pretty high and I think that the results are coming because we are working properly. I think if we continue to do this, we will continue to get the good results that we have in recent weeks.”

Llera has recently seen himself play alongside a new centre-back partner in Alex Davey, following the 20 year old’s loan move from Chelsea. Llera was quick to praise the young defender, as he is impressed by what he has seen so far from Davey.

He continued: “I think he is a really good player and I like to play with him as he is a good player. I think Chelsea have a good player for the future.”

See much more from Miguel Llera, Alex Davey and Mark Robins on The Iron Player ahead of the weekend.
