United’s FA Cup Second Round replay at Worcester City will be refereed by Andy D’Urso.
The first tie ended 1-1 at Glanford Park, after Paddy Madden’s opener was cancelled out by Daniel Nti’s second half strike. The Iron go into the tie on a six match unbeaten run, with the latest result being the 2-1 win over Crewe on Saturday. Their non-league opponents are on a good unbeaten run themselves, as they have gone 14 games without defeat so Wednesday’s televised cup match has the makings of a competitive game between two in-form sides.
D’Urso, an Essex based official, last took charge of a Scunthorpe fixture in 2012, when he oversaw a 2-1 defeat at Portsmouth in League One.
He has refereed 16 games this season and produced 45 yellow and four red cards. The only FA Cup game he has overseen this season was Bradford’s 2-1 victory away at Halifax in November.
He has had a long refereeing career, which included a spell in the group of ‘select referees’ officiating in the Premier League from 1999 until 2005.
This Wednesday will see D’Urso take charge of a Worcester Ciy game for the first time, with the winners of the tie taking on either Chesterfield or MK Dons in the 3rd Round.
He will be assisted by Brian Durie & Richard Martin, with Stephen Martin taking on the fourth official duties.
