Referee Mark Heywood will inspect the pitch at 10am on Sunday morning to assess whether or not our fixture at Sheffield United will go ahead.
Following an inspection on Saturday afternoon from a local Football League qualified match official, the Football League have requested a 10am inspection on Sunday of Bramall Lane and surrounding areas by the Cheshire official who is set to take charge of the fixture with Scunthorpe.
Bramall Lane staff continue to work on all public areas of the stadium in order to try and make safe and the undersoil heating remains on.
Blades' Managing Director Mal Brannigan commented: "The club has a duty to make sure that all visitors to Bramall Lane do so safely; this is very much at the forefront of our thoughts and includes the travel conditions to and from the game.
"We have been in constant contact with the Football League on Saturday morning and afternoon and have ensured them that we will do everything possible to ensure the ground and surrounding areas are safe.
"We thank supporters for their offer to help in assisting us in clearing ground and surrounding areas but at the moment the locality remains precarious. Non-employees are not covered by our insurance, protective equipment is at a premium and we do not have the staff numbers to provide fans with a health and safety briefing or training."
