Russ Wilcox said the Iron have no intention of appealing Marcus Williams' red card at Swindon Town.
He will miss three games after being dismissed 11 minutes from time for shoving Swindon's Nathan Thompson in the heat of a fracas and Wilcox admitted it warranted a straight dismissal.“You just cannot do that,” he told The Iron Player.
“You can’t raise your arms and put them in someone’s face. If you’re going to do it, it’s going to have to be on the chest or below for a yellow, we know the rules.
“The referee had no option but to show a straight red and it meant we struggled after that to get a foothold and create opportunities. We had to sit deep because it was 11 v 10 and they passed it to make us work. It also cost us Marcus' availability for three games, which is disapppointing.
“We have Andy Dawson to step in, who gives us that quality. That is why we kept him on the player/coach’s role. We have lots of thinking to do for the team we put out on Blackburn.”
