KEEPING THE FAITH

22 August 2014

We travel to Yeovil tomorrow with hope in that we can get our League One campaign off to a start.

Let us be under no illusions that this league will be a test for us and although being struck by long term injuries to the spine of the side, this squad can deliver.

I think it is important for us to react positively to our injury crisis and the fact we have signed players, both on loan and as investments for the club shows my continued support for the club and management. It would have been too easy to sit back and say: "Lets make do until all our players are back fit", but that is not in my remit. We have strengthened and will continue to strengthen until we get it right and that message must go out to the team, perform and keep that shirt, you all will have competition for your position.

Things looked like improving Tuesday, but when its not going for you, everything seems to be against you, however we move on and I am convinced we can pull through this period and come through the other end, a better and stronger team. I share your disappointment, but I also share your passion for this club, it hurts me when we lose just as much.

Faith in the team and management is crucial at this very early stage and I want to endorse that wholly, as things have been a lot worse than this in the past few years, haven't they?

I want to wish everyone travelling to the game a safe journey.

"The Iron", always,

Peter Swann
Chairman
