The Iron have signed Manchester City goalkeeper Eirik Holmen Johansen on a one-month loan.

The 20-year-old's stay will expire after the away game at Preston North End on Saturday, April 6.

An excellent shot-stopper with great handling ability, the Norwegian youngster has benefited and gained valuable experience by training alongside England’s established No.1, Joe Hart and Romanian international Costel Pantilimon.

He comes to the club to provide cover and competition for Sam Slocombe, who manager Brian Laws has confirmed potentially faces a three-to-four week spell out of action with a thigh injury, and James Severn.
