NEW DEAL FOR NOLAN

27 June 2013

Left-back Eddie Nolan has signed a new contract with the Iron.

The former Blackburn youngster has penned a one-year deal with an option as he enters his fourth season at Glanford Park.

Signing initially on loan from Preston North End in the summer of 2010, Nolan made 43 league appearances for the club in his first spell, scoring one goal. His stay was made permanent in January 2011.

However, he was released by former boss Alan Knill last summer.

Nevertheless, still without a club in February, the Irishman was re-signed by Brian Laws on non-contract terms and made 12 impressive appearances before being offered a new deal.

With three full Republic of Ireland international caps to his name, he can play on the right and left side of defence in addition to centre-back and midfield.
