Scunthorpe United can confirm Head of Football Operations Lee Turnbull has had his contract with the club terminated.
The 57-year-old returned to the Attis Arena for his latest stint at the club in April 2022, taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer, while later becoming Chief Executive Officer and then a brief stint as Chairman.
With over a quarter of a century of service to the club over four decades, Turnbull has assumed a number of roles since pulling on the claret and blue jersey, including heading up the Iron Foundation (then Football in the Community), Head of Recruitment, COO, CEO, Director of Football and most recent Head of Football Operations. While a player at Scunthorpe he scored seven goals in a near-half century of appearances for the club.
The club would like to place on record its thanks to Lee for his dedicated service to the club, and for his dignity in navigating the club through some of the darkest days of the history of Scunthorpe United, and wish him well for the future, with the door always open for him to visit us at any point.
