55 hours after kick-off of their Emirates FA Cup first round encounter against Solihull Moors, United make a quick return to action when they host Mansfield Town in the group stages of the Papa John's Trophy on Tuesday night.
SCENE-SETTER...
Scunthorpe come into the encounter with the Stags seeking a return to winning ways following this weekend's cup exit.
It is our final match in a cup competition in the 2020-21 season, with the Iron's fate already sealed in the group stages. The Stags also can't progress any further, and will be looking to back up their FA Cup win at Sunderland on Saturday after Nigel Clough became their new manager.
Both sides will be playing for third place in the group, with Manchester City Under-21s and Lincoln City the two sides to progress to the knockout stages.
THE OPPOSITION...
Under new management in Nigel Clough, and fresh off the back of a 1-0 Emirates FA Cup win at the Stadium of Light at the weekend, it is unknown what type of team Mansfield will put out - whether they use it as a chance for the first choice team to impress the new boss or use players who have been on the fringes of the side in recent weeks.
Academy manager Richard Cooper has taken charge of the last three games, which yielded two League Two draws before the weekend. The Stags presently sit 22nd in the table, one place and three points above the Iron, who do have three matches in hand.

TEAM NEWS...
First team manager Neil Cox has confirmed the side will be chosen on matchday, as the club assess which players are fit and who needs to be rested after the weekend. A number of players were set to return to the stadium on Monday after a spell of self-isolation due to the club's COVID-19 situation, and they will be looked at in preparation for the midweek fixture.
A further group of players returned on Saturday and Sunday respectively and will be assessed to see if they're in a position to start the cup clash with the Stags.
Tyler Cordner's one match suspension, incurred after he was sent off for two bookable offences at the weekend, will not count until our next league game, which is away at Oldham Athletic on Saturday.
Charlie Barks, Finley Shrimpton (Frickley Athletic) and Harry Jessop (Pickering Town) have recently been recalled from successful loan spells away and could figure in the squad.
