Scunthorpe United wishes to provide an update following a statement earlier in the week regarding registered player Jonathan Gjoshe.
Following surgery on Tuesday on the wound sustained on his arm, the club can confirm that Jonathan is now at home resting, and is expected to make a full recovery.
Jonathan has sent a message to tag along with this statement: “I would like to thank the staff the players and everyone who sent their well wishes, and to all the fans and everybody who has contributed towards the fundraising. I really appreciate everything. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
We would ask that Jonathan and his family’s privacy is respected at this time, and as a club we will make no further comment.
We continue to send our best wishes to Jonathan and all victims of the attack on Saturday evening.

At Saturday's home game against Yeovil Town, Scunthorpe United will pay tribute to fallen servicemen and women as part of our annual remembrance commemorations.
The club will stage a pre-match tribute, as we remember and honour those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in conflict.
The tradition of Remembrance was born 106 years ago in 1919 when the first Services were held throughout Britain and the Commonwealth. It was also the year the national veterans’ charity Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) was founded to help those returning from the First World War with TB.
As usual, the club are pleased to be able to welcome a number of representatives of the armed forces, veterans and volunteers of the Royal British Legion to the match this weekend to represent all service personnel as part of the moment of remembrance.
We are also delighted to welcome "Tommy" from Frederick Gough School once again. The "Tommy" remembrance figurine or silhouette is a poignant symbol created to commemorate the fallen and honour the sacrifices of British and Commonwealth soldiers in the First and Second World Wars and subsequent conflicts, and provides another visual part of our service on an annual basis.
As a mark of respect, the Iron's team captain on the day will walk out with a wreath that he will lay on the centre spot, later joining our opposing skipper and the match officials in laying the wreaths on the side of the pitch next to the Mortz Stand for the duration of the game.
The two teams, plus the match officials, will line up around the centre circle as an Ode of Remembrance from the poem 'For the Fallen' is played out over the PA system. This will be succeeded by the Last Post and the Rouse with a period of silence sandwiching the two pieces of music. Proceedings will be brought to a close by the referee following a further period of reflection.
In total respect of our Remembrance ceremony, turnstile operators stop admitting supporters just prior to the service commencing, and will resume this process following its conclusion. Supporters are encouraged to be inside the Attis Arena by 2.50pm to prevent missing the service and subsequently the start of the game.
Scunthorpe United would like to thank all supporters for their cooperation.
