Grassroots Opportunities

At Scunthorpe United, we are committed to offering group booking packages for local youth groups, such as grassroots football teams. Each season, we offer flag bearing and big flag packages ahead of every single game.

We also hold an annual Grassroots Day, which has seen over 1,000 extra spectators attend the game as part of a special offer consistently for the last three seasons.

See below for special details of our packages and for contact details to find out more information.

Flag Bearing Packages

One of our most popular packages at the Attis Arena, our flag bearing offering has gone from strength-to-strength with our local junior grassroots sides and has sold out for numerous campaigns in recent years..

The package sees adults enjoy a special group booking rate, while this experience allows the young Iron supporters to get up close and personal with their Iron favourites, as they enter the pitch from the walk-out.

Ahead of kick-off, the junior players are able to form a guard of honour with our Scunthorpe United flags as the two teams emerge for kick-off before enjoying the game from the Lincolnshire Co-op Family Zone of the Lincs Lifts Stand.

Email james.moody@scunthorpe-united.co.uk to register your interest for the upcoming season.

Big Flag Packages

The big flag package attracted a large amount of interest as our alternative grassroots package in 2019-20 and has continued ever since.

The package sees adults enjoy a special group booking rate, while this experience allows the young Iron supporters to get up close and personal with their Iron favourites as they enter the pitch from the walkout.

Ahead of kick-off, the junior players are able to parade our large Scunthorpe United flag as the two teams emerge for kick-off before enjoying the game from the Lincolnshire Co-op Family Zone of the Lincs Lifts Stand.

The Iron swiftly sold out of these packages for the 2018-19 season, as well as the regular flag bearing packages.

Grassroots Day

2024

The Iron is to confirm details for their Grassroots Day in 2024, with an opportunity to represent your club with cheap group booking tickets.

The event returned post-COVID following a campaign behind closed doors in 2020-21, with the success of the previous three campaigns seeing over 1,000 extra spectators situated in the AMS Stand. 2022 was no different, with another healthy level of support, while 2023 was also a successful event.

United are pleased to be announcing the same offer in celebration of our local junior talent, also extending our group booking offering to other local youth groups such as Scouts and Guides.

Representatives of the groups are invited to take advantage of the offer which will see all registered Under-18s in the group admitted for FREE, while a special price of £10 will be in operation for adults.

Since 2016-17, we’ve had a massive amount of Grassroots success, with our flag bearing packages consistently selling out. As a result, we also introduced a brand-new big flag package in 2018-19, one which has also proved very popular.

As a result of the Grassroots Day, the visiting supporters from Harrow will be located in the over-spill section of the Mortz Stand.

-------

The Iron hosted their fourth annual Grassroots Football Day, welcoming a wealth of local youngsters to the Attis Arena for our Sky Bet League Two fixture against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday, February 22nd, 2020.

For the last four seasons, with exception to 2020-21 when crowds were absent due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Iron have hosted a Grassroots Day at the Attis Arena.

For a specifically allocated match day, United have invited local youth groups to the stadium as part of group booking packages with over 70 local junior football teams taking advantage of the offer most recently in February 2019.

In 2017, the day was held when Scunthorpe hosted Fleetwood Town, 2018 saw Gillingham visit the Iron, while in 2019 it was Accrington Stanley who were at the Attis Arena on the day. On all three occasions, the event has boosted the overall attendance by around 1,000 people with a number of adults and under-18s arriving for their first ever live football matches.

Such is the success of the event, the club plans to continue offering these events once per season.

Keep an eye out for the potential return of our popular Grassroots Day in 2022!
