Former Players Association

Scunthorpe United Former Players Association (SUFPA)

Logo1.pngLaunched in 2022, Scunthorpe United was delighted to announce the formation of a Former Players’ Association.

The Scunthorpe United Former Players’ Association (SUFPA) is open to anyone who has ever played for Scunthorpe United at youth level or above.

To qualify for full membership, you must have made at least one full senior appearance in the first team (including as a substitute), or have been part of the first team staff - for example as manager or assistant manager. Former players who were with the club at any level, but did not make a senior appearance are invited to join as an associate member.

The objective of the association is to offer an avenue for former players, if they wish, to stay in touch with former teammates and perhaps the players from different generations, along with keeping them up-to-date with the football club.

Our mission is to bring together our members from every era. We feel it is important that ex-players should be celebrated and that we keep alive the memories of the great times each player has contributed to the club’s extensive history.

Once up and running, the association will also seek to arrange a variety of other events and get-togethers, including the potential to be invited as a guest speaker on match days in the club’s hospitality areas. All members will be welcome to attend any home league game but there will also be dedicated days organised, when members will be encouraged to attend games as a group to catch up and reminisce.

Membership is free! Former Iron players and managers from any era are invited become a member. If you are, or know of a, former player or manager, please get in touch! To join, contact James Moody via email on james.moody@scunthorpe-united.co.uk.
