The Iron completed the signing of midfielder Jamie Ness on a free transfer in July 2015, after he left Stoke City.

Jamie spent his youth career in his native Scotland with Glasgow Rangers between 2007 and 2010, turning professional in that year and subsequently made 16 appearances and scored one goal before his departure to Stoke City in 2012, to whom he signed a four-year contract.

While at Rangers, he made nine appearances for Scotland U17’s, nine appearances for Scotland U19’s, scoring one goal and two appearances for Scotland U21’s. He was named as the Scottish Premier League’s Young Player of January 2010; the same season that Rangers last won the SPL.

Loan spells at both Leyton Orient and Crewe Alexandra from the Potters over the course of the last two seasons had given him a near half century of appearances in Sky Bet League One with a further three goals in total to his name in that time.

His first season in Scunthorpe colours saw him play 30 times, and he will be hoping to push on in 2016-17.
