The Iron's reserves slipped to a 3-1 defeat to Huddersfield Town at the Galpharm Stadium.

The forward made it two three minutes when he latched on to a long ball from Spencer Harris to poke the ball past Lillis.

The Iron did have chances to reduce the deficit and Jonathan Forte came close to scoring on 12 minutes but after rounding 'keeper Smithies his goal bound shot was cleared off the line by Codman

Just before the break Jake Picton should have done better on the back post but he headed a corner straight at Smithies.

The Iron did reduce the deficit after the break when Jamie Bladen (pictured) fired home from 15 yards from Peter Winn's cross.

The home side made the points safe on 70 minutes when the Iron lost the ball on the half way line and Daniel Broadbent broke away to lift the ball over the advancing Lillis.
