The Iron signed Stalybridge Celtic striker Connor Jennings for an undisclosed fee in January 2012.
The 20-year-old striker penned a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Rising through the ranks at the Bower Fold club, he turned down a move to a Championship club to join United.
Overall, he's notched 51 goals in 123 appearances for the Blue Square North side.
He suffered a broken metatarsal just after joining United, missing almost three months, but recovered in time to finish the season, and is expected to be a key performer in 2012-13.
