UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT: CONNOR JENNINGS

Posted on: Fri 27 Jan 2012

As featured in our matchday magazine THE IRON, we find out more about striker Connor Jennings.

1. What was the first team you played for and in what position did you play?
That was my local side Reddich Falcons, I played up front for them from being a youngster.

2. What was the first car you owned?
My first car was a Ford Fiesta, I loved it, until I wrote it off a few months ago.

3. How many marks out of ten would you give yourself for:
> Tidiness?
10/10 - I have complete OCD about tidyness, I am a bit like David Bekham in so much as all of the labels have to be facing the front in the cupboards and all my socks have to be paired up.
> Usefulness around the house? 8/10 - I am pretty tidy and happy to do all the housework. The only thing that lets me down is the fact that Ican't cook, but to be honest I am pretty good with a microwave.
> Driving? I best say 6/10 as I wrote my car off three months ago. It wasn't a bad crash but the insurance company decided to write it off. Luckily there were no broken bones or anything.
> Getting up in the morning? 6/10 - I am not really a morning person if I am honest. I far prefer a good lay in.
> Fashion sense? 7/10 - I will go with a steady seven. I am not a complete fashion victim but I dress fairly well.

4. Who is the most colourful character you have been involved with in your career?
I would have to say most of the lads at Stalybridge could have their moments. Here the lads have gone easy on me so far.

5. What is your favourite childhood memory?
Probably signing my first professional contract with Stalybridge. I was sixteen and I think it is a big moment for anyone who dreams about being a footballer.

6. What is your most embarrassing moment on a football pitch?
I don't really think I have had one yet, but I am only young so I am sure there will be time.

7. What is your favourite type of food?
It would have to be pasta. As a footballer you have to eat a lot of it - luckily I like it.

8. What is your pet hate?
It would have to be untidyness or maybe even rudeness.

9. Which film or TV star would you choose to be cast away with on a desert island?
Will Ferrell, if I had to be marooned with just one person I would have to choose one that could make me laugh.

10. What pets do you have?
My mum and dad have a dog called Milo, its a Lezaraptor, I know it sounds more like a dinosaur than an animal!

11. If you could live in another country, which would it be?
I would have to say Spain for the climate. But if I am truthful I wouldn't really want to leave my family.

12. What is your all-time favourite musician/band?
I like a lot of my old school Motown like James Brown, and stuff my parents used to listen to.

13. Coronation Street or EastEnders?
Neither I cannot stand soaps at all.

14. What invention do you wish you had come up with?
I would have founded the company Apple or invented the iPad or iPhone.
