BRISTOL CITY REFEREE ANNOUNCED

Posted on: Tue 07 Sep 2010
Andy Haines has been announced as the match referee for Saturday's home clash with Bristol City at Glanford Park.

The Tyne and Wear official was promoted to the National List of Referees in 2007 and has taken charge an Iron match on just two past occasions.

He was the referee for the 1-1 home draw with Ipswich Town back in February, which he had initially postponed two months earlier because of a frozen pitch.

Haines was also the man in the middle for last season's Johnstone's Paint Trophy first round win over Notts County.

So far this season he has refereed four games, showing 10 yellow cards and no red.

His assistant referees are Jonathan Hunt and Jason Whiteley, with Chris Akers operating as the fourth official.
