The Iron's youth team drew 2-2 against the Tranmere Rovers Academy in their latest friendly of pre-season on Saturday morning.

Tony Daws' team scored through first year trainee Dalton Harris and Jordan Thewlis, in his second year, in an entertaining game of football at St Lawrence Academy.

Indeed, Scunthorpe could have won, with Aron Wint having two chances cleared off the line towards the end.

Meanwhile, Ashley Palmer put a free header wide from a corner in the last minute.

"I'm really pleased with the players and the manner in which we were playing," explained youth development officer Daws.

"There were a lot of positives to take from the performance yet again."
