FOOTBALL LEAGUE SHOW FEATURE ONLINE

Posted on: Mon 03 May 2010
Want to see a lot more than just the goals? Extended match highlights are exclusive to The Iron Player and will be online from 2.45pm.

Iron fans could watch a feature about the Iron's survival success on Sunday night's Football League Show on BBC1.

Roving reporter Mark Clemmit (pictured right) was at Glanford Park to catch a word with manager Nigel Adkins, as well as capturing all the goals and post-match celebrations.

Adkins told the show: "We never lost the faith, because we knew when we set out at the start of the campaign, having experienced a previous season in the Championship which ended in relegation, with the resources we've got there was a likelihood that away from home we'd suffer some defeats.

"You have to play with the cards you've got as best as you can, it's as simple as that. We try and be the best we can be, that's what we instil on everyone.

"We believed we could achieve something this season, and we've come up and stayed up - which is great.

"It's sad that one of the big clubs (Sheffield Wednesday) has to go down but we've got to concentrate on ourselves.

"It's a credit to all our players, the chairman and the board of directors that we've given the supporters something to cheer about."

The feature starts 35 minutes into the programme and can be viewed again on the BBC iPlayer for the next seven days by clicking here.
