NO BYRNE APPEAL

Posted on: Tue 16 Mar 2010
The Iron have confirmed that they won't be appealing Cliff Byrne's red card at Ipswich Town.

The captain faces a five-match ban following his third sending off of the season at Portman Road on Saturday.

Manager Nigel Adkins has hoped to launch an appeal, but a lack of video evidence from the Tractor Boys has put paid to those plans.

His suspension starts when Scunthorpe visit Newcastle United on Wednesday night and finishes after the home match with Blackpool on Good Friday.
