Ipswich Town v Scunthorpe United
at Portman Road
Saturday, March 13, 2010 - 3.00pm

The Iron return to Championship action on Saturday when they visit Ipswich Town.

Last weekend's scheduled home game with Reading was postponed because of the Royals' FA Cup exploits so, as a result, Scunthorpe have had a two week break from action following the 2-1 loss at Coventry City two weeks back.

Manager Nigel Adkins has used that period to refine certain aspects of his team's game on the training ground, take his squad to Champneys Springs in Leicestershire for three days and set out a battleplan for the final 12 matches of the Championship season.

United head to Ipswich sitting two places above the relegation zone and just one point away.

That said, belief is high that the Iron can achieve what Adkins has billed as something remarkable and survive in the second tier of English football.

It will be an incredibly tough game at Portman Road though, against a Town outfit two places and three points above United.

Roy Keane's side haven't been defeated on home soil since September and arrive into the match buoyed by a 2-0 home success over Cardiff City on Tuesday night, which Adkins and his chief scout Lee Turnbull were present to witness.

The North Lincolnshire side, who will travel down to Suffolk on Friday afternooon, come into the match with 'everyone chomping at the bit to be in the team," according to Adkins.

While the boss was coy to reveal his team news, he did confirm that defender Rob Jones has recovered from a broken nose and is back in contention.

He played 90 minutes for the reserves in their loss at Leicester in midweek, as did utility man Andrew Wright, who has bounced back from an ankle injury.

The only absentees are Ian Morris (knee) and the suspended duo of Michael O'Connor (the second of a three-match ban) and Ben May (the first of a similar suspension).

Ipswich team news to follow.

The referee for the game is Pat Miller.
