Top goalscorer Gary Hooper was disappointed with his own personal performance as Scunthorpe lost 2-1 at Coventry City. The former Southend forward missed a penalty - which he could have equalised from - in the second half to cap what he felt was a 'bad day at the office' for himself.
Manager
Nigel Adkins was critical of the team performance after the defeat, particularly in the first half, and Hooper was in agreement as Scunthorpe suffered a loss in their last game for a fortnight.
"Today I felt I played badly," he told
The Iron Player.
"In the second half we came out and played well. They went down to ten men and I missed a penalty, it was a bad one.
"They then scored their second and that was that really.
"I thought the team performed poorly in the first half - we didn't show up, there was no tempo.
"We'll think about it, look at the video and see what we can do.
"We've got to get on with it now and focus on the next game at Ipswich, and try to get three points there.
"We've played seven games this month so a rest from playing, but with plenty of work on the training ground, will hopefully do us some good."
