Iron captain Cliff Byrne returns from suspension on Saturday for the home game with Watford and hopes he can come back into the side. The 27-year-old had to miss two matches after being sent off for the second time this season at West Bromwich Albion last week, and he is looking forward to welcoming Henri Lansbury back to
Glanford Park.
The former loan star made 17 appearances and scored five goals during a three-month stay last season, and he has continued to excel at Vicarage Road.
"He made a good impact while he was here. I'm sure he will receive a warm welcome from the home fans," Byrne told
Scunthorpe-United.co.uk.
"Obviously he's moved on in his career now like we have as a club. I'm sure we'll all greet him but once you pass that white line it's every man for himself and we'll be looking to take the three points.
"Watford haven't played for two weeks and when that happens it can go either one of two ways. They will either be knocked out of their stride or they will feel refreshed and revitalised from the break.
"On the other hand, we've played twice during their period of rest but after Tuesday we have a bit of momentum. It should be interesting to see how they approach the game but either way I'm sure it will be a difficult game.
"They're a good footballing team and we'll be looking to maximise our home advantage."
