SPARROW AND WOOLFORD SELECTED

Posted on: Tue 16 Feb 2010

The Iron entered their home game with Barnsley making two changes from the side thumped 5-1 at the weekend by Leicester City.

Martyn Woolford and Matt Sparrow came into the midfield for Grant McCann and Michael O'Connor as boss Nigel Adkins seeked to remedy Saturday's problems.

Joe Murphy started in goal, with Michael Raynes, David Mirfin, Rob Jones and Marcus Williams forming the defence.

The midfield consisted of Matt Sparrow, Sam Togwell, Josh Wright and Martyn Woolford, while Paul Hayes partnered Gary Hooper up front.

The substitutes were Josh Lillis, Andrew Wright, Kenny Milne, Grant McCann, Michael O'Connor, Donal McDermott and Jonathan Forte.

It was the third time in which the two sides had met this season after taking on one another at Oakwell in the league and Glanford Park in the FA Cup.
