BYRNE SUSPENSION STANDS

The FA's appeals panel has turned down the Iron's bid to overturn Cliff Byrne's dismissal at West Bromwich Albion in midweek.

The defender was sent off for bringing down Andy Slory in the closing stages of the 2-0 defeat at the Hawthorns and, as a result, his suspension stands.

The red card was the Irishman's second of the season so consequently he misses two games.

He sits out Saturday's away game at Leicester and the home encounter with Barnsley at Glanford Park on Tuesday night.
