WRIGHT IN CHARGE ON TUESDAY

Posted on: Mon 08 Feb 2010
Kevin Wright has been announced as the referee for United's away clash at West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night.

Wright, who took charge of the 1-0 away FA Cup third round defeat at Watford last season and the Iron's 1-1 home draw with Southend back in October, started refereeing back in 1995 and was promoted to the national list of assistant referees in 2000 before securing promotion to the referees list three years later.

His first Scunthorpe game was the 2-0 loss at Rochdale, in which Richard Kell was sent off. He was then in charge of the 4-2 reverse at Swansea City later that campaign before overseeing the 2-0 Carling Cup defeat at Nottingham Forest the following August.

The next season, he was the referee as United lost 1-0 at Colchester.

So far this campaign he has been in charge of 18 games, showing 51 yellow cards and three reds.
