Garry Thompson is an early doubt for Tuesday night's trip to West Bromwich Albion with a hamstring injury.

The winger was substituted in the closing stages of Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace and manager Nigel Adkins says the former Morecambe man could miss the trip to the Hawthorns.

"It doesn't look too clever at the moment so we'll just have to wait and see," said Adkins, speaking on The Iron Player.

He added: "It just underlines to you that you can't keep playing the same players all the time because of the intensity of the game."
