Iron goalkeeper Josh Lillis hopes he can shine in the absence of regular No 1 Joe Murphy on Saturday when his side visit Watford in the Championship. The 22-year-old, who has enjoyed loan spells with Grimsby and Rochdale so far this season, comes into the side in place of the suspended Republic of Ireland international, who was sent off at Blackpool a fortnight ago.
And he's hoping he can take his chance as he makes his second league start of the season.
"Hopefully I'll be involved," he told
The Iron Player.
"They haven't named the team yet but I'm hoping to get in there seeing as I'm a goalkeeper and
Joe Murphy is suspended.
"It's a big game for everyone because we've had a few games recently in which we haven't fulfilled our potential.
"We did well for the first hour at Blackpool and we'll try and stick to a gameplan which can hopefully bring a result.
"I've been out on loan recently so it will be good to get back in there and play Championship football.
"You just want to go in there and do your best in every game.
Joe Murphy is a great goalkeeper and it's a shame that he's missing out but I just want to put in a good performance and hope that we'll get a good result."
