Watford v Scunthorpe United
at Vicarage Road
Saturday, November 21, 2009 - 3.00pmThe Iron are back in Championship action on Saturday when they visit Watford.Following their third fortnight-long international break of the season, Scunthorpe head into the game looking to move up from 19th in the table.
Indeed, the opportunity is there to climb up to 14th should results go United's way.
Nigel Adkins' side have won each of their last two games after the prior international breaks, and will be hoping for more of the same in a tough looking fixture against Malky Mackay's in-form side, who find themselves sitting 12th.
Josh Lillis will come into the side in goal, taking the place of
Joe Murphy, who misses out through suspension after being sent off at Blackpool two weeks ago and handed a one-match ban.
The trio of
Marcus Williams (leg),
Josh Wright and
Gary Hooper (both illness), who missed the clash at Blackpool, are back in contention after returning to training during the past two weeks.
They will feature in the squad, with manager
Nigel Adkins having everybody at his disposal barring
Ben May (ankle) and
Kenny Milne (knee).
It will be Scunthorpe's third trip to Watford in the past 18 months and they will be seeking a second victory at Vicarage Road.
United were beaten 1-0 in the FA Cup last season, but managed to emerge 1-0 victors there the previous season when
Paul Hayes scored.
Watford's star performers so far this season have been the on-loan duo of Henri Lansbury from Arsenal and Tom Cleverley from Manchester United.
Lansbury shone for Scunthorpe during a three-month loan spell at the end of last season, in which he scored five goals in 17 matches.
The Hornets have doubts over Ross Jenkins, Jay DeMerit and Richard Lee.
The referee for the game at Vicarage Road is Chris Sargeson.
