Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins has confirmed that the club are hoping to sign York City striker Adam Boyes but insists a deal isn't done yet.
Citing the 18-year-old marksman as a young player who he wants to help develop over the next two to three years, Adkins says negotiations are ongoing to bring in the frontman.
He has scouted the 6ft 2in over the course of the last year and his hunger has impressed the Iron boss.
Boyes has had a trial with Manchester United, and has also attracted interest from Middlesbrough and Tottenham.
The forward has scored twice in 10 league starts for the Minstermen.
