Club Captain Cliff Byrne has turned his attentions to his own big day now that the Iron have secured promotion. Byrne is due to get married in the summer and he told giveemfootball.com; "It has been pretty hectic since we won at Wembley, and I am going to put my feet up for a couple of weeks now as I get married in the summer.

"My wife-to-be has done most of the work towards it but now the season has finished I can give it the attention it deserves and it will be a wonderful day."

Meanwhile Byrne believes that it is important that the Iron's best players, including Gary Hooper, remain at Glanford Park if the Iron are to be successful in the Championship.

Byrne added: "It is very important to keep hold of Gary as we don't want to let our goalscorers go.

"Of course, if there was a ridiculous offer then a club like ours would have to consider it but the good news is that Gary wants to stay.

"I spoke to him and he wants to develop his career further with us in the Championship and that will help us next season."
