LEFT-BACK PROBLEM FOR UNITED

Posted on: Mon 04 May 2009

Iron manager Nigel Adkins says there is an injury crisis in the left-back position ahead of Friday night's play-off semi-final first leg with Milton Keynes Dons.

Andrew Wright is a doubt with a facial injury, while Joseph Mills was on crutches after the game after injuring his hip.

Meanwhile, Marcus Williams missed the match through illness.

"He's in a right mess, he's got a horrible facial injury and you feel for him because he's been top drawer for us," said Adkins, speaking on Iron World.

"From his nose, all the way down to his lip, it's been totally ripped apart.

"It was a horrible injury but it's been all stitched together.

"Joseph MIlls came off injured too, while Marcus Williams missed the match on Friday so we're struggling in the left-back positions."
