Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins was delighted to see his side re-enter the League One play-off zone with a 3-0 victory over Hereford United on Tuesday night.

Tranmere fell out of the top six with a defeat at Cheltenham and, with the next three matches being at home, Adkins wants to take full advantage - starting with the home encounter against relegation-threatened Brighton on Saturday.

"We have nine games left to play, six of which are at home, and we need to capitalise on that," said the boss, speaking on Iron World.

"We're now back in the play-off positions and what we've got to do now is the keep the whole thing rolling.

"I believe we're going to stay there. We've just had a challenging run of games and we're now in a mini-league. We want to win it, we had two games in hand and won the first of those last night.

"I think we've consistently played good football this season. It helps when the pitch is wet and there's a zip about the place because we can play quick-tempo football. Some of our forward play was exhilarating on Tuesday.

"We've now got to get prepared for Brighton on Saturday."
