LANSBURY IMPRESSES ON DEBUT

Posted on: Mon 16 Feb 2009
Iron boss Nigel Adkins was really impressed with the promise shown by midfielder Henri Lansbury on his debut in the home defeat to Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

The on-loan Arsenal prodigy came on as a half-time substitute after his side had gone two goals down at the break and showed some neat touches as Scunthorpe chased a way back into the game.

"He undoubtedly looks a talent," said Adkins, speaking on Iron World.

"Saturday was the first opportunity he's had to play on grass with the players and he looked really impressive.

"We introduced him on the left at half-time because I felt Martyn Woolford was having an indifferent game - it just wan't happening for him on Saturday but we've been delighted with him all season.

"Henri's a forward-thinking player who can play anywhere going forward and you've just got to get him on the football - it's as simple as that."
