TRIO TO MISS GRIMSBY
Posted on: Mon 06 Oct 2008
United trio Joe Murphy, Grant McCann and Krystian Pearce will all miss Tuesday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy second round clash at home to Grimsby Town.
The three players are on international duty for the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and England U19's respectively, so won't be able to face the Mariners.
The rules for the competition normally mean that a team must choose six of the eleven players at the top of their appearance table.
However, with these three players unavailable due to being on international duty, they won't count amongst those players on the night.
We can confirm that McCann and Pearce will also miss Saturday's match with Crewe Alexandra.
Murphy, though, will be available as he flies back from international duty on Friday morning.
